Cutting-Edge Spinal Decompression

Spinal Decompression is a Non-Invasive Treatment to Decrease Pain

Spinal Decompression Therapy is a treatment that helps alleviate pain associated with the discs in the spine that are between vertebrae. Spinal decompression involves stretching the spine, using a traction table or similar motorized device, with the goal of relieving pain and increasing functionality in the spine.

Over time, due to age, lifestyle or injury, discs can bulge, become herniated or degenerate. Once this process begins, pain, limited range of motion and discomfort may occur in the spine and in the legs. This low-risk treatment is essential for anyone with lower back issues.

Spinal Decompression Can Help with the Following Ailments:

  • Chronic & Acute Back or neck pain
  • Sciatica
  • Bulging or herniated discs
  • Arthritis
  • Failed back surgery
  • Spinal stenosis
  • Degenerative disc disease
  • Worn spinal joints (posterior facet syndrome)
  • Injured or diseased spinal nerve roots

Some of the Conditions We Treat Include...

  • Auto Injuries - Car crashes can create a wide range of symptoms and long-term disability. If you've been in a car accident, it's important that you make sure that you get early attention to prevent the development of scar tissue and persistent pain.

  • Back Pain - Chiropractic care is a proven successful and safe way to recuperate from either acute or chronic pain.

  • Neck Pain - Whether your neck discomfort is brought on by an accident, postural problems, or idiopathic (unknown origin), we can help get to the root of the pain.

  • Headaches - Several scientific studies clearly show that chiropractic can help with headache problems. Some of the different types of headache include migraines, tension headache, and cervicogenic headache (pain that originates in the cervical spine). Chiropractic care can be helpful for all of these.

  • Sciatica - The sciatic nerve is the largest nerve in the human body and it travels from your lumbar spine, through your pelvis, and down your leg. Sciatica can be very disruptive to your life, and chiropractic care is a fantastic way to identify the root cause of your pain and reduce the pressure on the sciatic nerve.

  • General Wellness - Scientific research also shows that chiropractic adjustments can decrease emotional stress, increase immune function, and can even be helpful for elevated blood pressure. Chiropractic care is wonderful for your overall health!

Other Conditions Include...

  • Tinnitus

  • Ear Problems

  • Numbness / Tingling

  • Vertigo

  • TMJ Dysfunction

  • Stiff Neck

  • Text-Neck Syndrome

  • Fibromyalgia

Thank you Disc Doctor

"I will admit I was on the fence about this working for me but I’ve been in pain for so long and would try anything . To my surprise in just a few short weeks are started feeling results. I went from not being able to stand up without pain and stand upright to being able to lift my grandkids, independently doing shopping and walking and standing no longer in so much pain. I would recommend this to anyone before going in for surgery. Thank you Disc Doctor for giving me quality of life back."

Meet The Team

Dr. Michael Forlini

Diagnostician

Dr. Michael Forlini grew up in historic Hyde Park N.Y adjacent to a 100 acre woodland where he kept busy mountain biking, hiking, riding ATVs, swimming, and snowboarding. When he wasn't exploring the woods he spent his time playing basketball, skateboarding, wrestling, and playing guitar. Dr. Forlini eventually discovered the power of nutrition and exercise the summer before entering college when he started weight lifting and running. This realization followed him to SUNY Oneonta where he studied Dietetics and personal training prior to declaring Human Biology as his major. Dr. Forlini earned Honors in Biological Studies and completed internships with physical therapists, as well as, orthopedic and general surgeons. After observing surgeries for the summer, he was selected to become a teaching assistant to the Anatomy and Physiology Department for the entirety of his senior year.

Dr. Forlini graduated with his bachelors of science in Human Biology with a physical therapy concentration in 2011 and began working at Bassett Hospital in Cooperstown NY as a physical therapy aide. It wasn't until 2012 that Dr. Forlini hurt his back weight lifting and discovered chiropractic. After a few treatments, he realized that chiropractic was the perfect balance of everything he was passionate about; anatomy, physiology, exercise, nutrition, and nature. Soon after, he enrolled at New York Chiropractic College to pursue a Doctorate degree in Chiropractic (DC).

Dr. Yejong Chung

Patient Care Coordinator

Dr. Yejong Chung, a chiropractor, was born in South Korea and embarked on a unique journey that would shape his career and impact countless lives. Growing up in the picturesque landscapes of Kenya, Dr. Chung developed a deep appreciation for the interconnectedness of health and nature.

His educational journey began at the University at Buffalo, where he pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science. This foundation laid the groundwork for his future endeavors in the realm of healthcare. Driven by a passion for holistic well-being, he sought further education and earned his Doctorate degree in Chiropractic from the New York Chiropractic College (NYCC).

Dr. Chung initially started his career in chiropractic care, but his trajectory took a distinctive turn when he decided to specialize in treating patients with disc-related issues. Witnessing the challenges and suffering that many individuals faced post-back and neck surgeries, specifically those dealing with disc bulging and herniation, ignited a fervent desire within him to explore non-invasive alternatives.

Kimberly

Clinical Technician

I’m a clinical technician at The Disc Doctors. I was born in Guyana, which is in South America. I migrated to the United States at an early age with my parents. After graduating high school, I pursued my passion in the medical field where I gained abundant amount of experience helping patients. But most importantly I am a wife and mom to my two daughters. My typical day consists of cleaning the kitchen too many times to count, meal prepping for the week and ensuring everyone is where they need to be. But above all, I enjoy spending time with my family. We love building Legos together as if we don’t have enough Lego built around the house and to always conclude my day, I enjoy blasting music and dancing around with my girls!
